US: Wisconsin youth climate case dismissed

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by 15 young climate activists from who challenged the state over its energy policies.

The group, represented by Our Children's Trust, challenged the state’s Public Service Commission over laws they claimed make the climate crisis worse by undermining renewable energy and promoting fossil fuels. This, they said, breaches their rights under the Wisconsin state constitution.

But the judge said this was a matter for politicians, not the courts.
